OHSAS 18001 lead auditor training is a British Standard for Occupation Health and Safety Assessment Series for health and safety management systems, which intends to help any organization to manage occupational health and safety risks. It was developed in response to a n increase in the demand for a recognized standard against which the operations of the organization could be certified and assessed.
The International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) is the world’s original and largest international certification body for auditors of management systems. Through the OHSAS 18001 lead auditor training a candidate to demonstrate his competence as an auditor and go on to achieve professional recognition as an IRCA certified lead auditor. The OHSAS 18001 lead auditor training teaches the candidate the design, the implementation and the ways to improve the operations of the organization’s OH & SMS to the requirements of the standardization. On completion of the training the candidate would be able to understand and implement your own Safety Management System (SMS);Demonstrate organizational compliance with all the relevant legal requirements; Understand the importance of safety policy and how it should be based on all the significant risks identified within the organization; Understand and demonstrate continuous improvement in occupational health & safety performance; Apply in-depth knowledge of the OHSAS 18001:2007 audit and certification process; Have the skills and knowledge needed to plan and conduct third party audits against the requirements of the OHSAS 18001:2007 Safety Management Systems and report the results; Understand the importance of audit evidence, corrective action and performance monitoring and; Meet the training requirements for registration as an OH&SMS Auditor or Lead Auditor with the IRCA.
The course content deals with Introduction to concepts underpinning the occupational health and safety management; Review of BS OHSAS 18001:2007; OH & S management issues including operational control; H&S Audit skills; Accreditation issues and ; Auditor competence.
